Concordia Brewery at the Kennedy School presents…
2011 Whiskey Widow Release
Tapping Friday, December 2, 2011
Boiler Room Bar (Kennedy School)
Brewers Matt Carter and Kevin Lee will be on hand to discuss the Whiskey Widow and any other of their beers.
Introducing the latest in the Concordia Barrel Series – Whiskey Widow began as our special Halloween ale Black Widow, a porter made for the first time 20 years ago at the Thompson Brewery in Salem, Ore., and made annually in house ever since. Black Widow is a strong, black, roast-flavored porter with subliminal notes of anise and chocolate in the finish, mostly due the licorice root added at the end of the kettle boil.Read More

Please join us at any of our pubs to celebrate a quarter of a century traveled for Terminator Stout, which turns 25 years old on Friday, November 19, 2010.
Terminator’s origins can be traced to the Hillsdale Brewery & Public House, most likely brewed on a blustery, cold day not unlike today. The memories of the first batch are fuzzy for those who might shed light on the actual specifics of that original brew. Ancient texts show us that Terminator pre-dates both Hammerhead and Ruby, and was in fact the 12th beer ever brewed at the Hillsdale, making it the 12th batch of beer brewed by McMenamins period. Twelve is a pretty cool number, laden with symbolism and cosmic intrigue, making the ebony liquid’s longevity even more fascinating for those who are moved by such happenstance occurrences….
Tonight at the Hillsdale Brewery & Public House is the official kick-off of Oregon Craft Beer Month and a celebration of 25 Years of craft-brewing culture. This brewing culture is a vibrant and ever-evolving phenomenon, one which McMenamins is both proud and honored to be a part of. No matter which brewery you call home – to everyone who has been a part, we raise a glass.Read More
