Media Wrap-Up from the UFO Festival

Hello from the History Department –

The 20th Annual UFO Festival has come and gone — and it was a damn good one! For the first time, we sold out 800+ tickets to one of our speaker events at the McMinnville Community Center. That particular program featured the UFO-research community’s most sought-after guest, former government physicist Bob Lazar who was paid to reverse-engineer an alien craft’s propulsion system. (And I thought my job was cool…)

Sorry you missed our stellar line-up of guests this year? Not to worry, the recent spate of national UFO news, much of it featuring or citing ufologists who have attended or spoken at our little hometown festival, continues to this very day. Read more…

In today’s Washington Post:
“UFOs Exist and Everyone Needs to Adjust to That Fact”

From this past week’s New York Times:
“’Wow, What Is That?’ Navy Pilots Report Unexplained Flying Objects”

From the investigative team for KLAS-Las Vegas, filmed at our 2019 festival:
“UFO Fest Means Encounters of a Different Kind”

From Newsweek – the McMinnville UFO photos are #15 on the list!
“The Most Credible UFO Sightings and Encounters in Modern History, According to Research”

Still interested in learning more? Then you’ll definitely want to bookmark HBO’s Vice news story filmed at this year’s festival, set to air on Thurs., 5/30, or Fri., 5/31.

And then set your DVRs for this Fri., 5/31, to record the History Channel’s new show Unidentified (produced by Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, an armchair ufologist who founded To The Stars, a for-profit UFO research foundation). The first episode will feature 2019 UFO Festival speaker and Naval Top Gun pilot Commander David Fravor.
