Small Batch Tour: All Hail the King (Perkoff, that is)!
You don’t have to be a jazz fan to dig the coolest cat around, King Perkoff. The dude is to saxophones what LeBron James is to basketball – a master of his art, and a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
So there’s no doubt we here at McMenamins music are thrilled to have the King Perkoff Band slotted for this week’s Small Batch Tour, hitting some of our larger venues (go here for schedule, locations, times and other details). His first Tour stop is this Saturday, March 5, at the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Ore.
Prepare yourself: Even the least rhythmically inclined will find themselves tapping toes, wiggling hips, and nodding heads in time to Perkoff’s wickedly sly riffs and bold playing style. It doesn’t hurt that the man likes to put on a show – he’s been known to jump atop a table or two. Shoot, we love him so much, we even named a hotel room after him!
We could go on and on singing his praises, but let’s just let his sax do the singing for us:
Now that’s some soul, huh? See ya on Tour!
